FCTA To Complete Guzape Infrastructure PDF Print E-mail
The FCT Administration is working towards completing the provision of basic infrastructure in Guzape District of the Federal Capital City to enable plot owners develop them in earnest.

The Minister, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero, gave this assurance during an unscheduled inspection to plots I & II project sites being handled by Dantata & Sawoe and Gilmo Nigeria Limited. He reiterated that the people are yearning for practical dividends of democracy and thus the need for fast tracking the provision of basic infrastructures in the Federal Capital City.

Senator Aliero lamented that the contract for the provision of infrastructure in Guzape District which was awarded in 2003 was supposed to have been completed in 2006. The minister promised that  with enough provision  made in the 2009 FCT budget for such projects contractors will be paid as at when due to avoid unnecessary delays in completion of projects.

He disclosed that efforts would be re-doubled by the FCTA  to complete the Shere and Wasa Resettlement sites in Bwari and Kwali Area Councils respectively to enable the natives in the Federal Capital City be resettled immediately.

According to him, all the contractors handling the FCT’s projects would be pushed to perform because he is determined to make a mark in the development of Abuja.  He therefore advised the contractors to work extra hard to meet up with the new pace because the administration is ready to meet its own contractual agreement and, would therefore, not condone any excuse from any one of them.

The minister was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engineer Muhammad Sani Alhassan and some top government functionaries.
