FCTA Prepares Guidelines for Mass Housing PDF Print E-mail
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is set to release guidelines for the execution of Mass Housing Projects in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT Minister, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero, gave this assurance yesterday, when officials of the Abuja Estate Developers Association paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

Aliero said the FCTA is working on the legal framework that will give all stakeholders a level playing field in the real estate business. The Administration, he added would work towards streamlining the processes of providing affordable houses in the FCT, to enable larger segment of the society, especially the middle class, to benefit by owning their own houses.

While advocating for greater collaboration with the private sector in the development of the FCT which he noted has witnessed a boom, the Minister disclosed plans of the Administration provide basic infrastructure in three districts of the FCT. Aliero decried the low quality of houses provided by some operators of the Mass Housing Projects in the FCT and insisted that sub-standard structures built under the scheme are unacceptable. 

Speaking earlier, Leader of delegation who is also Chairman, Board of Trustees, Abuja Estate Developers Association, Engineer Chinazor Okereke, appealed to the FCTA to work with them to create wealth for the benefit of all.
